Job description
Westminster Woods has an immediate need for a full-time Cook.

As a Cook you will perform a variety of duties, including pot and pan washing, dish washing, trash removal, deep cleaning of surfaces and equipment, use of chemicals, recycling, and food transportation.
Education requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience requirements
• 3 or more years culinary experience in a high volume full service dining environment.
Qualifications
• Florida SafeStaff certification required or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of date of hire.
• Must have a full understanding of basic food preparation methods and cooking techniques in quantity food production.
• Proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Office and data type programs.
• Must have a willingness to provide a leadership role.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to blood-borne and respiratory pathogens.
• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of this position.
Responsibilities
• Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Communities.
• Set up work stations according to established guidelines.
• Prepare all food items in accordance with standardized recipes in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Distribute prepared food to all areas of service accurately and consistent in preparation and presentation. Restock items as needed throughout the shift.
• Clean and maintain station by practicing good safety, sanitation and organization skills.
• Assist with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
Skills
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak the English language and understand and follow written and oral directions.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to learn computer programs as defined by Westminster Communities of Florida.
• Basic knife handling skills.
